How To Apply

  • Viewing Job Openings 

    Visit the State of Iowa Careers page to view all open jobs.

     

  • Search for a Job 

    Search for a vacancy that matches your job search criteria, or sign up for a 'Job Interest Card' which will notify you when a position has been posted that matches the area(s) of interest you selected.

     

  • Applying for a job 

    Each job posting includes specific application instructions and an application deadline date. Click the title of the job that you would like to apply for and then click the 'Apply' button on the top right. Please note - you will need to have a NEOGOV account setup in order to apply. If you don't already have one, you can click the 'Create an Account' link.

     

  • Help is available 

    We are available to help you between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. (CST) by calling (515) 281-5889. You may also visit our office in the Hoover Building, 1305 E. Walnut, Des Moines, IA 50319. We have a computer in our front lobby for your convenience in completing the on-line job application.

Definitions.

Salary

The salary range listed is the minimum and maximum salary for the job. All applicants that meet the minimum qualifications will start at the bottom of the salary range. Any experience directly related to the job, above the minimum qualifications, will be evaluated and the salary may be higher based on that experience. The general rule of thumb is a 5% increase in the base salary for each year of experience above the minimum requirements for the job.

Location

This is the location of the job. Please note, that this is the general area where this job is located. Additional location details will be available in the job description section, including whether the job is in-person, hybrid, or remote.

Agency

The agency listed is the state agency that this job posting falls under.

Closing Date

This is the date that the job posting will close. No applications are able to be accepted or reviewed if received after this date.

Minimum Qualifications
