Are you interested in supporting Iowans with complex mental health and rehabilitation needs?
If so, the Division of State Operated Specialty Care (SOSC) may be a good fit for you! HHS operates a network of specialized facilities that provide critical care and support across the state. These include inpatient psychiatric treatment for adults at Cherokee Mental Health Institute and for adults, children, and adolescents at Independence Mental Health Institute; rehabilitation and supervision programs for adjudicated delinquent boys at the State Training School in Eldora; community living preparation and support for individuals with intellectual and related disabilities at Woodward Resource Center; and secure, long-term treatment for high-risk sexual offenders at the Civil Commitment Unit for Sexual Offenders.
Together, these facilities ensure Iowans with complex behavioral health, developmental, and public safety needs receive the treatment, support, and oversight necessary for safety, rehabilitation, and long-term well-being.
