HHS' Division of Aging & Disability

Are you interested in supporting aging Iowans and Iowans with disabilities?

If so, HHS' Division of Aging & Disability Services may be a good fit for you! This newly created division brings together staff and programs across multiple divisions of Legacy DHS and the Department on Aging. The four bureaus of the division all collaborate to maximize independence of aging Iowans and Iowans with disabilities.

In 2050, it's estimated that 19.9% of Iowa's population will be age 65 or older. This means our services are more important now than ever.

  • We work to empower older adults to maintain their independence.
  • We advocate on behalf of older Iowans to ensure their rights, safety, and well-being.
  • We also help people with more specific social and economic needs.
